Broadway is, without a doubt, the most famous theatre district in the world that attracts millions of visitors every year to its stages. The latest season data shows theatre has never been stronger with 13.8M visitors coming to Broadway to enjoy the likes of Hamilton, Wicked, Miss Saigon and the Lion King. A significant component of the visitors are children where over 2.1 million attendances were by kids and teens. Tourists formed 63% of the admissions, and 48% of all attendees were from the USA. New York City delivered the highest number of theatergoers by the geographic city at a total of 19.9% of attendees, which includes Manhattan and the other boroughs.  Canada was the no 2 country after the USA for attendance followed by the United Kingdom at no 3.

Can you guess whether men or woman formed the majority of attendees? 66% of all attendees were women. The average age of a theatergoer was 40.6 years young, and the average household income was a whopping $222,120.

Most attendees enjoyed their shows in small groups with family and friends, and they purchased their tickets on average 43 days in advance. 60% of ticket purchases were made online, and most attendees found their show via a google search.
